Filming

Please read the information for filing which can be found here before you start.

Ideally, learn the lines off by heart and speak them to the camera, or, print the lines on a large piece of paper and hold behind or to the side of the camera.

Remember to say or have a piece of paper that shows the Scene number (eg S03 = Scene Three) before you start each section.

Watch the video clip on the right for an idea on how to do it

I am God’s servant; His will be done.

Watch the video clip on the right for an idea on how to do it

Joseph's filming is probably the most complex of all the roles being played, so please read through it and if you are not sure what is needed please ask.

S09

The person taking the video stands outside the front door of your house.  Joseph stands inside.

Film the front door from when it is closed, then imagine the Soldier banging on the door and Joseph answering it, and film Joseph opening the door from inside.

There are no words for this scene for Joseph to speak - he is responding to the Soldier's line:

Mary’s husband, Joseph, opened the door.

S11

Mary needs to be asleep, film Joseph gently waking her, rocking her arm or shoulder.

Wake up, Mary we need to travel to Bethlehem

S12 / S13

Film Mary, Joseph and the Donkey (if there is one) outside.  Start filming with them about 4 metres away walking towards you then stop filming, then a second video of them walking away from you for about 4 metres.  There are no words with this Scene.

This is to have some video while the Narrator says:

With Joseph at her side, Mary rode on the donkey all the way to Bethlehem.

Film this outside a front door with Joseph outside the house, filming from behind Joseph. Joseph knocks on the door.  Then stop filming.  This is the Scene when the Narrator says:

Have you got any room?
