Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord
Dear Friends,
Today’s Liturgy: Please pick up palms in the church porch – there will be a procession around the church for all who wish to join in. |
Here we are waving our palms on the doorstep of Holy Week when we will celebrate the last days of Jesus’ life on earth just as we are now. It is a good time, (irrespective of our age, career or standing), to ask the question: WHERE DO WE STAND? having had the gift of being called by Him at our Baptism to “come follow me.”
Some are beginning the journey of life itself – let us treasure all children whatever their gifts and limitations are. And then the wide span from youth to old age. Self-examination is always called for on how we respect and treat each other and nowhere more than in the home. Jesus lived a selfless life helping many and always turning to the Father for guidance. Even on the cross he would say: “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.”
All of this and much more for us. Well may we ask: “Where do I stand?” as I am preoccupied with my own issues and aspirations.
Please see overleaf for the Mass times during Holy Week.
God Bless,
Fr John
